Politics » DEFENSE | December 5, 2013, Thursday // 13:06

The Bulgarian army is training a team of navy commandos to be sent in the NATO-led ISAF mission in Afghanistan.

Training is under way, which is set to be completed by the end of the year, said a navy reconnaissance unit commander Capt. Stancho Dimitrov, as quoted by the Focus Information Agency.

According to Dimitrov, the unit will be charged with security tasks in Afghanistan's capital Kabul.

In November, the Bulgarian cabinet approved the country's participation in the future Resolute Support mission envisioned by NATO in Afghanistan.
