A 17-year old Bulgarian has injured 8 children in a car accident in the Belgian city of Gent.
The boy, who was driving his father’s jeep, had a provisional driving license, but was not accompanied by an adult, as the law stipulates.
The teenager was driving with high speed, when a moped appeared in his way from a major street. In order to avoid the collision, the Bulgarian made a sharp maneuver, which saw the jeep slam into a group of students at a tram stop, reports the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency.
Instead of checking on the injured, the driver quickly left the scene. Police were able to find him quickly, since witnesses had taken down the number of the car.
Despite being underage, the case will be taken to the regular court, rather than to a juvenile court.
None of the injured are in critical condition.
