Men with Hoods Stir Fears of Provocations at Sofia Protests: Men with Hoods Stir Fears of Provocations at Sofia Protests A bTV photo of the mysterious group in front of the Bulgarian Parliament in downtown Sofia

Dozens of men with hoods arrived Wednesday morning on the square in front of the Bulgarian Parliament, stirring fears of upcoming provocations at the mass rallies in the capital.

Currently, there is no information on who they are and what they represent, but they clearly looked very different from the usual protesters gathering on the same square.

The men arrived around 9 am, moving in a single file and lined up tight against the metal fence guarding the main entrance of the Parliament, alongside the police cordon located behind the fence.

Twenty minutes after arriving, they began chanting "Support," which was interpreted by local media as them being a pro-government group.

The men stood on the square for exactly 30 minutes and then left again in a single file in the direction of Sofia University.

At the same time, protesting university students demanding the resignation of the Socialist-endorsed government of Prime Minister, Plamen Oresharski, campaigned among commuters in the subway, urging them to join their protest in front of the Parliament at 11am.
