The Bulgarian Socialist-endorsed government of Prime Minister, Plamen Oresharski, has decided at a behind-closed-doors sitting to appoint six new ambassadors.

The Bulgarian 24 Chassa (24 Hours) daily informs Tuesday that the decisions of the Cabinet to propose to President, Rosen Plevneliev, to confirm the new appointments have not been announced until now.

Seasoned Member of the Parliament from the left-wing Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP, and Head of the EU Funds Committee, Mladen Chervenyakov, will be Ambassador to Monte Negro. He will replace Maya Dobreva, whose term has expired.

The other five replacements are also prompted by expiration of mandates, but the nominees, unlike Chervenyakov, are career diplomats.

Petko Doykov, one of the Foreign Ministry's employees, who was very active in the rescue of Bulgarian medics from Libyan jail, will be Ambassador to Lybia; Rusi Ivanov, Head of Directorate at the Ministry, is going to be Ambassador to Denmark; Rumyana Mitreva will head the diplomatic mission in Norway; Petar Valov is going to Moldova, while Kristina Beshkova will represent Bulgaria in the Council of Europe in Strasburg.

All six have been probed by the Files Commission, investigating the records of the Communist era State Security, and it has been established that they have not been associated with it as agents or collaborators.
