Students gather in front of the building of the Interior Ministry in Sofia to protest against police violence during the blockade of the Parliament on Tuesday.

Currently Police and gendarmerie forces have blocked entrance to the streets surrounding the building of the Interior Ministry in Sofia in an attempt to prevent a gathering of the protesting students in front of the building, informs BNR.

Students have scheduled for Wednesday afternoon a protest under the motto ‘Against Police Violence’ after the clashes with riot police during the blockade of the Parliament on Tuesday.

University lecturers and citizens have been joining the students on their way to the Interior Ministry’s building situated in downtown Sofia, reports BNR.

University teachers are demanding sanctions against those policemen who have used excessive force during the blockade of the Parliament on Tuesday, said Professor Kalin Yanakiev, a Sofia University lecturer and supporter of the protesting students, as cited by BNR.
