A child living in a refugee shelter in Bulgarian town of Harmanli has been infected with Hepatitis A, the case is confirmed by the Regional Health Inspection in the southern city.
Five-year old girl accommodated in a refugee shelter in the southern Bulgarian town of Harmanli, Haskovo Province is in hospital for treatment of Hepatitis A, informs local news website haskovo.net
The girl is in good condition and will be released from hospital once completely cured.
The case has been registered by the Regional Health Inspection in Haskovo, parents of the child are placed under quarantine.
Hepatitis A is a disease associated with a lack of safe water and poor sanitation.
Local health authorities have ordered an immediate disinfection of the refugee shelter in Harmanli as a precaution measure against a possible outbreak.
