Three young Bulgarians have unfurled Friday in plenary hall a banner saying "College Students Ask: Aren't You Ashamed?"

They did it during the so-called Parliamentary control, when ministers from the Cabinet respond to lawmakers' questions.

The Speaker of the Parliament, Mihail Mikov, reacted swiftly in acting hospitable, inviting the "boys for a cup of coffee" in his office after the session.

Being a good host, however, failed to convince them to change their attitude and after the meeting with him they still insisted they wanted the government's resignation, bTV reported.

Mikov's Deputy and fellow Socialist Party member, Maya Manolova, commented that the normal thing, when someone was standing on the balcony protesting, was to ask them what their problem is.

"It should be normal for everyone to express their opinion on one hand, on the other - have a dialogue between institutions and people. The Parliament is the most public place in the State. Citizens attend all discussions in committees and are free to raise any banner they wish, so there is no censorship here," said Manolova

The banner was subsequently seized by Parliament clerks.

The college students have entered the National Assembly as all citizens can, after submitting applications and after their approval by the Administration of the Parliament.

They explained before media that they did not represent any party or non-governmental structure, but just themselves.

The students say they have erected the banner to express their dissatisfaction with the work of Parliament. They have also told Mihov that this National Assembly has lost all legitimacy because it was not doing its job to represent the people.

"For me, new elections don't mean choosing the same or any new faces; they mean that those who are here admit their mistakes and are willing to run again," said Ivaylo Dinev , one of the students.
