Refugee influx in Bulgaria is a serious humanitarian issue that requires solution at European level, according to Bulgarian Foreign Minister, who is on a visit to Greece.

EU coordinated solution to the problem of refugee flows is needed and it requires substantial financial resources, agreed Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Kristian Vigenin and his Greek counterpart Evangelos Venizelos during their meeting.

Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Kristian Vigenin is on a one-day working visit to Greece.

Vigenin met Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and Minister of Foreign Affairs Evangelos Venizelos.

Bilateral relations, European perspective of the Western Balkans and the situation in the Middle East, were topics of discussion.

The possibility of passenger buses to cross the border checkpoints "Makaza - Nymfaia" was also discussed. Both ministers confirmed their commitment to open the checkpoint for heavy traffic as soon as possible.

Speeding up the negotiations on signing a readmission agreement between EU and Turkey was also among the topics discussed.

Greece, as a a strategic partner of Bulgaria, has an important place in the foreign policy priorities of Bulgaria, stated Bulgarian Foreign Minister during his meeting with the Prime Minister of Greece Antonis Samaras.

The program of the working visit of Minister Vigenin to Greece also includes meetings with President Karolos Papoulias and President of the Parliament Evangelos Meimarakis.
