Bulgaria's national football team coach Lyuboslav Penev says his boys hold destiny in their own hands, ahead of the crucial World Cup qualifiers.

Penev spoke at a press conference on Wednesday night, ahead of his team's departure for Yerevan, where they will play Armenia on Friday.

"The 2nd place in our group depends entirely on our performance in the upcoming two matches. The players are calm and they have been training well. I am satisfied and optimistic", said Penev.

The coach believes the match in Armenia may prove to be a little more difficult than Tuesday's home game against Czech Republic, but acknowledges that both are equally important.

"I will not hurry to comment on the starting lineup, since there are two more training sessions. It is reassuring that we have few injuries and suspensions, therefore I can rely on a wide range of players", added Penev regarding his choice of starting 11.

Armenia host Bulgaria on Friday at 6 PM Bulgarian time.

The other key match in this group will be Denmark against Italy. The Danes are just 1 point behind Bulgaria and will be challenging for the 2nd place, which could give either team a chance to reach next month's play-offs.
