Bavaria's Chief State Prosecutor Christoph Stroetz, who is on an official visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov, has met with Zinaida Zlatanova, Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Minister.

The main topic of the meeting between Stroetz and Zlatanova on Monday was the creation and the functioning of a European Public Prosecutor's Office, according to a media statement of the Justice Ministry.

"Bulgaria has a consistent stance on the EU prosecution authority. Our country shares all issues in the sphere of justice very openly. I am convinced that all judicial systems can be open to each other" the Deputy Prime Minister stated.

She added that the EU economy, which included 500 million consumers, had a very fragmented system for protecting consumers' rights.

"Although there are 28 judicial systems, we can start thinking about a rational and inclusive approach, as regards, for instance, EU funds," Zlatanova declared.

Christoph Stroetz said that one of the main priorities on which Bavaria had concentrated efforts was e-justice, and e-cases in particular.

Zlatanova, in turn, said that the topic of e-justice figured prominently in the program of Bulgaria's Justice Ministry.

She went on to propose an exchange of expert experience on the topic.
