No Bulgarians Killed, Injured, in Bus Crash in Eastern Romania

No Bulgarian nationals died or were injured in the bus crash in eastern Romania last night, according to Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry.

The Bulgarian bus overturned in a ditch between the cities of M?r??e?ti and C?lim?ne?ti.

The two Bulgarian drivers of the bus were not injured in the accident and are in good health.

The bus crash claimed the lives of two Ukrainian tourists, a man and a woman, according to preliminary reports.

Five people were injured, three of whom were taken to hospital, all of them in stable condition, according to Romanian news agencies.

A spokesperson of the extraordinary situations inspectorate in Vrancea was quoted as saying that there had been 77 people on the double-decker bus, including 74 Ukrainian tourists, who had been on their way back to Ukraine after a holiday in Bulgaria, and three Bulgarian drivers, at the time of the accident.

Romanian police is investigating the cause of the crash and is examining the passengers and the drivers.

The Bulgarian Embassy in Bucharest is in constant touch with the Bulgarian drivers and is providing the necessary cooperation.
