Inflation in Bulgaria for 2024 Stands at 2.2%, Meeting Eurozone Requirements
Bulgaria's National Statistical Institute has reported that inflation for 2024 stands at 2.2%, a slight increase from the previous year
According to the preliminary data of Bulgaria's National Statistical Institute (NSI), in July 2013, the construction production index, calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data, increased by 1% on the month.
According to working day adjusted data, construction production decreased by 6.8% on the year in July 2013.
The annual decrease registered in July 2013 was due to the 8.8% decrease in building construction and the 5.3% decrease in civil engineering.
Compared to June 2013, the civil engineering production index, calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data, increased by 2.5%, while the building construction production index decreased by 0.2%.
According to the preliminary seasonally adjusted data of the NSI, retail trade turnover, except motor vehicles and motorcycles at constant prices, increased by 1.0% in July 2013 as compared to June 2013.
In July 2013, the working day adjusted retail trade turnover, except motor vehicles and motorcycles, grew by 4.3% on the year.
In July 2013, turnover increased in almost economic activities on a monthly basis. Significant increases were observed in the segments of "retail sales of food, beverages and tobacco" by 8.2%, "retail sales of textiles, clothing, footwear and leather goods" by 3.9% and "retail sales via mail order houses or via Internet' by 3.1%. At the same time, decreases were registered in the segments of "retail sales of automotive fuel" by 2.1% and "retail sales of computers, peripheral units and software; telecommunications equipment" by 0.3%.
In July 2013, annual increases were registered in the segments of "retail sales of textiles, clothing, footwear and leather goods" by 23.1%, "other retail sales in non-specialised stores" by 16.6%, "retail sales of food, beverages and tobacco" by 9.0%, "retail sales via mail order houses or via Internet" by 3.2%, "retail sales of audio and video equipment; hardware, paints and glass; electrical household appliances" by 1.6% and "retail sales of automotive fuel" by 1.1%.
At the same time, decreases were registered in the segments of "retail sales of computers, peripheral units and software; telecommunications equipment" by 0.8% and "dispensing chemist; retail sales of medical and orthopaedic goods, cosmetic and toilet articles" by 0.4%.
According to preliminary data of Bulgaria's NSI, the seasonally adjusted industrial production index increased by 1.7% in July 2013 as compared to June 2013.
In July 2013, the working day adjusted industrial production index fell by 2.6% as compared to July 2012.
The biggest annual decreases in the working day adjusted industrial production index in July 2013 were registered in the mining and quarrying industry by 15.9% and in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 7.7%, while manufacturing registered an increase by 1.2%.
In July 2013, significant annual increases were registered in the manufacturing of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers by 26.1%, in the printing and reproduction of recorded media by 20.0%, in the manufacturing of textiles by 19.9%, in the manufacturing of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment by 18.9%, in the manufacturing of computer, electronic and optical products by 18.3%.
At the same time, substantial decreases were registered in the manufacturing of other transport equipment by 22.7%, in the manufacturing of leather and related products by 16.9%, in the manufacturing of tobacco products by 14.0%, in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 8.5%.
In July 2013, as compared to June 2013, the seasonally adjusted industrial production index increased in manufacturing by 2.3%, in the mining and quarrying industry by 1.5% and in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 1.2%.
Significant increases were registered in the manufacturing of computer, electronic and optical products by 21.5%, in the manufacturing of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations by 7.5%, in the manufacturing of paper and paper products and in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 5.9%, in the manufacturing of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment by 5.6%.
Decreases were registered in manufacturing of beverages by 8.5%, in the manufacturing of electrical equipment by 5.2%, and in the manufacturing of textiles by 2.6%.
