The discourse of EU funds in Bulgaria is regrettably too politicized, said Bulgarian acting PM and Minister of Justice Zinaida Zlatanova.
Thursday Zlatanova visited a newly opened EU projects information booth in Sofia, part of a string of info points to be opened across the country.
"In effect [previous EU funds minister] Tomislav Donchev and I are saying the same things, but politicization does not do a good job," said the Bulgarian Deputy-PM, who is also in charge of EU funds.
"If there was not such great politicization of EU funds talk in the first part of 2013, which was a time of elections campaign, then things could have been explained much more clearly," added she.
According to Zlatanova, EU funds for the new programming will be distributed by a different method than those for the previous one.
"Back then, all funds for Bulgaria were distributed in operational programs. Now parts of the funds will depend on the way those programs are working," explained Zlatanova.
Thursday, the Bulgarian Justice and EU Funds Minister also revealed that the new draft Partnership Agreement forsees less funds for infrastructure, in return to more funds for business and innovations.
