The two Spanish citizens who were hurt in Sunday night's blast in a Chinese restaurant in Bulgarian capital Sofia have suffered light injuries and are recovering well, said doctors.

The two - a woman and a man who do not know each other - are hospitalized in Sofia's Military Medical Academy.

The 24-year-old woman has received a brain concussion, while the man, in his 30s, has sustained a broken ankle.

The woman is expected to be released Tuesday, while the man will stay hospitalized for some more days, said the hospital.

The strong explosion, which injured 11 people, one of them in critical condition, is believed to have been caused by a pressurized gas bottle.
