Send to KindleBulgarian right-wing Union of Democratic Forces (UDF/SDS) and Bulgarian Agrarian People's Union (BZNS) have joined on Thursday the so-called Reformist Bloc.
The Bloc is a brand new informal coalition of mostly right-wing, out of parliament opposition parties formed during the ongoing anti-government protests in the country.
By signing the joining agreement, UDF and BZNS are obliged to accept the 12 points set in the founding agreement of the Reformist Bloc.
"The things that unite us are more important than those that divide us," said Bozhidar Lukarski, the leader of UDF.
Nikolay Nenchevich, the chairman of BZNS, stated that his party is honored to be included in the list of member parties comprising the newly formed entity.
The invitation for the inclusion of the two parties came a month ago by the Bulgaria for Citizens party, led by former Bulgarian EU commissioner Meglena Kuneva.
In 2009, the Democrats for String Bulgaria (DSB) party and the Union of Democratic Forces founded the so-called Blue Coalition, which became defunct in 2012.
The Reformist Bloc was founded by DSB, Bulgaria for Citizens, the Greens party, the Freedom and Dignity People's Party and the right-wing Blue Unity formation.
Other small parties have also expressed interest in joining the Reformist Bloc.
