Former Bulgarian European Commissioner Meglena Kuneva has declared that her Bulgaria for Citizens party and the the center-right GERB party of former PM Boyko Borisov have no common ground.

Earlier on Thursday, Borisov reached out for cooperation with the Reformist Bloc, a brand new informal coalition of mostly right-wing opposition parties formed during the ongoing anti-government protests in the country.

In a statement, Kuneva said Borisov must understand that the Reformist Bloc consists of parties with common goals and common values, and is not just a sum of election percentages seeking to gain power.

According to the secretary of Bulgaria for Citizens Movement, Yonko Grozev, GERBs term in office was marred by political appointments in the state institutions,  wiretapping,  voting manipulations, suppressing  small and medium enterprises, and monopolies, among others. Grozev emphasized that GERB party should make many changes in its policies in order to improve its image.

The Reformist Bloc currently consists of the Democrats for Strong Bulgaria party (DSB), Bulgaria for Citizens, the Greens party, the National Party Freedom and Dignity and the right-wing Blue Unity party.

Reforming Bloc representatives have ruled out any cooperation with GERB on several occasions over the past few weeks.
