A Turkish citizen in the Ceylanpinar municipality of Sanliurfa province has been hit and killed by a stray bullet coming from neighboring Syria.

No further details are known about the tragic incident, reports CNN Turk.

Since mid-July, there have been intensified hostilities between Kurds and Islamists in Syria's Ra's al-'Ayn district bordering on Turkey.

At the same time, RIA Novosti quoting Lebanese sources reports that a Syrian military plane has hit a target nearby the border with Lebanon.

According to reports, the strike was directed at the city of Yabrud, which is controlled by rebels fighting against the government of Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad in a protracted and bloody civil war.
