The Bulgaria for Citizens Movement party of former EU Commissioner Meglena Kuneva plans to propose an expansion of the so-called "Reformist Bloc."
The step was discussed during Tuesday's sitting of the National Council of the party.
The Bulgaria for Citizens Movement party proposes that the right-wing Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) party and the Bulgarian Agrarian National Union (BZNS) party headed by Nikolay Nenchev be included in the formation, according to reports of mediapool.bg.
On Monday, Radan Kanev, leader of the right-wing Democrats for String Bulgaria (DSB) party did not specify whether the Reformist Bloc would be expanded and which parties would be invited join.
He explained that he had not been authorized to speak on behalf of all five parties included in the bloc, but added that he would meet with UDF leader Bozhidar Lukarski later the same day.
On Tuesday, Lukarski, as cited by dnevnik.bg, made clear that the UDF would work with the Reformist Bloc on common ideas and policies, adding that the talks with the formation had not cleared up the details.
DSB also informed that it kept working on the formation of the so-called civic council around the Reformist Bloc.
The idea to establish a civic council came after a letter of 15 intellectuals who insisted that the Reformist Bloc had to be open to dialogue with the protesters against Bulgaria's current socialist-led government.
Bulgaria's recently established Reformist Bloc includes five predominantly Right-leaning parties, among which the Democrats for Strong Bulgaria, DSB, the Union of Democratic Forces, UDF, now known as Blue Unity as it comprises smaller formations, the Bulgaria for Citizens Movement, the Greens party, and the National Party Freedom and Dignity founded by Kasim Dal, the self-proclaimed top "dissident" from the predominantly ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms, DPS, and Korman Ismailov, a former head of the youth organization of DPS.
