While thousands have been protesting for 45 days now against the cabinet of Bulgarian PM Plamen Oresharski, a petition supporting him has gathered some 0.4 M signatures.

The organizers of the petition say at present 377,000 people have signed the letter of support.

This includes some 20,000 signatures gathered on occasion of the ruling Bulgarian Socialist Party's yearly assembly in the historic Buzludzha locality Saturday.

A parallel petition for the impeachment of Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev has gathered more than 40,000 signatures, say organizers.

According to the petition, Plevneliev has failed to live up to his constitutional role as unifier of the nation by taking a biased pro-protest position.

The two petitions will be tabled to parliament at a later date.
