Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev has urged anti-government protesters to remain peaceful and civilized.
Plavneliev’s statement came amid clashes between riot police and demonstrators late on Tuesday.
“For the first time since the protests began, we witnessed tensions and provocation attempts,” the President said, calling on protesters to abstain from actions that would lead to an escalation of tensions and public order disturbance.
