Bulgaria: Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Union Demands Firm Price Regulations Photo by BGNES

The Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Union (BPhU) has yet again called for firm regulations in prices of medicines.

The BPhU issued a media statement in response to media publications about differences by over 100% in prices of medicines, according to reports of Darik radio.

The BPhU insists that Bulgaria's Commission for Protection of Competition (KZK) needs to initiate a self-referral about the detected price differences of prescription medication.

"Until firm and solid prices are introduced, such deformations will not be isolated cases, which impairs the quality of pharmaceutical services, the rational use of medicines and patients' trust in the healthcare system," the BPhU says in its statement.
