The minimum salary in Bulgaria is lower than the one in China, according to a study conducted by the Bulgarian 24 Chassa (24 Hours) daily.

The minimum monthly wage in Bulgaria, which was recently increased to BGN 310, equals USD 206.24.

The one in China is USD 264, which equals BGN 397.

Bulgaria's minimum monthly wage is lower than the wages in Indonesia (USD 228), Thailand (USD 240), Malaysia (USD 297) and the Philippines (USD 329), while prices in Bulgaria are significantly higher than in all these countries.

24 Hours writes that in China the minimum wages are determined by local administrations and must be at least 40% of the average salary for the area and allow normal living conditions.
