Net Exporter: Southeast Europe Relies on Bulgaria for Stable Energy Supply
Bulgaria continues to assert itself as a net exporter of electricity and a key stabilizer in the energy network of Southeast Europe
A failure in a major power distribution station has left large parts of the Bulgarian town of Samokov and the nearby Borovets mountain resort without electricity Saturyday evening.
The failure occured around 5.30 pm Saturday, informs power utility CEZ.
The facility is owned by Bulgaria's Power System Operator, which is working on restoring power.
CEZ reports it has succeeded in supplying the Samokov hospital and other key sites with electricity.
