A crowd of anti-government protesters booed socialist MP Maya Manolova as she went out of the Parliament building tried to engage in conversation with them.

The protesters started throwing tomatoes at Manolova, urging her to go back into the Parliament building, where she gave an interview, according to reports of Sega daily.

She told journalists that she had attempted to invite protesters to a public discussion of Election Code amendments scheduled to start at 3 pm in Pariament.

"I do not understand all this aggression" the MP of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) declared.

Around 1000 people have gathered in front of Parliament to demand the resignation of the socialist-led government.

The crowd keeps growing.

There is increased police presence and traffic around the Parliament building has been blocked.

Meanwhile, Wednesday's Parliament sitting was canceled due to the lack of quorum.

Parliament Chair Mihail Mikov asked the MPs in attendance to register twice, the first time there were 104, and the second, which came after a 30-minute break, there were 112, less than the required 121.

MPs of center-right party GERB and nationalist party Ataka were absent from Wednesday's sitting.
