French police have busted a crime ring of four Bulgarians who drained over EUR 1 M from ATMs for a period of around two years.

The four Bulgarians were arrested after an investigation which lasted around two years, according to reports of the BGNES news agency.

The Bulgarians were living in Dijon and its surroundings.

They mounted skimming devices on the ATMs in the region.

The crime scheme was detected back in 2011.

The investigation revealed that the crime group was part of an international criminal network, whose mastermind was arrested in April 2012 in France.

Later on, police arrested another member of the crime group who had been trafficking equipment between Bulgaria and France.
