US President Barack Obama's motorcade has been involved in a traffic accident while on its way to Miami airport Wednesday evening.
Obama was unharmed, but two veteran city of Miami police officers were hurt. An abandoned vehicle that was on the shoulder of the highway may have been a contributing factor to the crash, police said.
Obama was in Miami for a fundraising event.
The accident prompted a temporary closure of the highway.
Both motorcycle officers were taken to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital to undergo tests for injuries that police said were not considered life-threatening.
