Heavy weather alerts have been issued for Thursday as meteorologists warn of a volatile mix of rain, snow and strong winds across Bulgaria

Code orange was issued for a total of 10 Bulgarian regions due to heavy downpours and hail forecast on Wednesday.
The National Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology has issued code orange for the regions of Smolyan, Kardzhali, Haskovo, Stara Zagora, Sliven, Gabrovo, Razgrad, Targovishte Shumen and Veliko Tarnovo.
Thunderstorms, downpours and strong winds are expected in those regions.
Code orange means intense weather situations with potential damage, injuries and casualties.
During the night, the weather will remain cloudy, with light rain expected in some areas of Northern and Eastern Bulgaria.
