Ivaylo Spiridonov has been appointed as interim director of the Sofia District Police Directorate.
Former Sofia police chief Valery Yordanov was sacked by Interior Minister Tsvetlin Yovchev earlier this week.
Yovchev, who took oath of office last week, also dismissed the directors of the regional police directorates in the cities of Targovishte, Montana, Kardzhali, and Vratsa.
The sacked officials’ replacements were announced on Thursday.
