Bulgaria's top runner Ivet Lalova now tops the European rankings for the season after finishing first in the women's 100m sprint event at European Athletics Outdoor Classic Meeting in Montreuil, France.
Lalova won the event Monday evening with 11.13 seconds, displacing Ukrainian Olesya Pov, who, until now, led the seasonal ranking with 11.19 seconds. She also outran Lakeisha Lawson from the US, who ended second with 11.24.
Before Montreuil, the Bulgarian athlete's best result was 11.31 seconds.
Lalova, who is a European Champion, will compete next in the Diamond League in Rome on June 6, where she will take part in the 200m event.
