Bulgaria's men’s national handball team claimed silver at the World Handball Cup held in Varna
The Municipal Electoral Commission in the Bulgarian city of Varna has expectedly accepted the resignation of former Mayor Kiril Yordanov.
The Commission has noted that the decision can be appealed within seven days.
As it was announced earlier on Tuesday, Deputy Mayor Hristo Bozov is taking over as interim Mayor.
Snap elections are expected to take place at the end of June.
Fourth-term Mayor, Kiril Yordanov, resigned on March 6, amidst huge protests.
The largest demonstrations against high utility bills, monopolies, poverty, economic stagnation, corruption, and the political model of ruling the country after the fall of the Communist regime in 1989 were held in Varna.
