Code Yellow Declared over Bulgaria Due to High Winds

Society » ENVIRONMENT | March 18, 2013, Monday // 18:36

Code yellow for potentially dangerous weather has been declared over the entire territory of Bulgaria Tuesday due to expected strong winds.

The winds, coming from the south and south-east, will bring again warmer weather, after a brief and harsh cold spell end of last week through Monday.

Highs are expected to jump over 15 degrees Centigrade from day temperatures around 5 C for large parts of the country Monday.

Winds in the north and west of Bulgaria are expected to reach gusts of 15-20 m/sec Tuesday.

Heavy clouds in the north are expected to bring rain and hail storms with thunder, warns Bulgaria's National Institute of Hydrology and Meteorology.
