Former Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov shared some words of advice with the caretaker Cabinet that succeeded him on Wednesday.

Borisov urged the caretaker ministers "not to pay any attention" to what the oppositional Bulgarian Socialist Party and Movement for Rights and Freedoms might say about them. He reminded that both parties had the chance to form an interim government after his resignation last month, but decided not to do so.

"If Stanishev had 250 000 jobs, why doesn't he have a government now?" he asked rhetorically, referring to promises made by BSP leader Sergey Stanishev.

Bulgaria's caretaker cabinet, which was announced by the president on Tuesday, following weeks without a government, officially came into office on Wednesday.

At an official ceremony caretaker prime minister Marin Raykov took over from former prime minister Boyko Borisov, who shockingly resigned in February.

Marin Raykov will head Bulgaria's caretaker government until the May 12 elections, the president officially announced on Tuesday. He will also serve as foreign minister.
