A Bulgarian racer has become the first man to fly the Macedonian flag at the world's most prestigious long range motor race, the Dakar Rally.
The Bulgarian Todor Hristov is competing for Macedonian team MK Alexander, and Sunday waved together the Bulgarian and Macedonian flags at the rally's opening ceremony in Lima, writes the Makfax Agency.
This will be Hristov's second participation in the Dakar Rally, after in 2011 he took part in the race representing Bulgaria.
The racer is competing in the ATV category, together with 38 other drivers, who will compete on 14 days.
Dakar 2013 spans 8,000 km of race over the territories of Peru, Argentina and Chile, ending in Santiago on January 20.
