Penance's of the government has been ordered by Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov.

According to Bulgarian Standard daily, citing their own insider sources in the Cabinet, Borisov has ordered Ministers who have not fulfilled their promises to the people by Sirni Zagovezni (Mardi Gras, March 17) to publically ask for forgiveness after that date and explain what prevented them from acting on their pledges.

Standard further writes that Borisov planned a "spring cleaning" involving dismissals of heads of State agencies that failed to secure enough revenues for State coffers. The sources have hinted that they could include Customs Chief, Vanio Tanov. The Prime Minister had set a deadline of April 2013 to clean his ruling Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB, from all individuals with even suspected shady reputation that could be detrimental for the party ahead of the summer general election.

Borisov had also ordered ministers to come up with a plan by mid-February how to win the election and have a majority with 122 seats in the Parliament, stressing he did not want a second term on "crutches."

Speaking for-the-record, hours before New Year's Eve, the Prime Minister stated that in 2013 he expected way more financing from EU funds.
