Bulgaria: Bulgarians Spend Up to EUR 150 on Christmas Presents

An average Bulgarian has spent between BGN 50 and BGN 300 (approximately EUR 150) on Christmas presents, surveys have shown, according to the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR).

Men are inclined to spend more on Christmas presents, BNR has observed.

Books, perfumes and technical gadgets are considered to be among the most popular Christmas gifts.

According to a recent survey conducted by the National Center for Study of Public Opinion, approximately 80% of Bulgarians would spend less than BGN 100 (EUR 50) on presents, with 7% saying they could not afford to go shopping at all. 34% of Bulgarians will donate to charities during the upcoming holidays, the survey also showed.
