A Bulgarian court of appeals has reduced to twenty eight years in jail a 20-year-old man, who confessed to the brutal murder of an 11-year-old boy last year.
Hristo Sechinski, nicknamed "The Cobra", heard his verdict on Friday in the coastal city of Varna, four monhths after the court in Shumen, northeastern Bulgaria, sentenced him to thirty years in prison.
The Cobra had made full confessions, hoping to strike a deal with the prosecutors.
Presiyan Ivanov was found dead with multiple stab wounds in an unfinished building near the house-museum Pancho Vladigerov in September 2011. Presiyan went out to play the previous day and failed to come home by 22:00 o'clock as he had promised.
The murderer was a sexual abuse victim as a child. He knew the victim and is suffering from a psychiatric illness. He has been treated in a local mental institution.
