Nearly 500 schools remained closed on Thursday in Bulgaria over the severe winter weather in the country.
99 of the schools in question were closed due to hazardous road conditions, while most of the rest were forced to close over freezing temperatures and blizzards. Eight schools were closed due to lack of electricity or fuel.
Schools were closed in Burgas (54 schools), Varna (61 schools), Dobrich (83 schools), Kardzhali (14 schools), Razgrad (48 schools), Ruse (9 schools), Silistra (48 schools), Sliven (74 schools), Stara Zagora (3 schools), Targovishte (26 schools), Shumen (72 schools) and Yambol (1 school), dnevnik.bg informs.
