FBI is to send a special agent to Bulgaria who will deal with combatting cybercrime in a total of 12 countries, officials have announced.

On Tuesday, Bulgarian Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov met with Michael Daniel, special assistant to US President Barack Obama and White House cybersecurity coordinator.

During their meeting, it was announced that a special unit for fighting cybercrime will be created with the involvement of Bulgaria's Chief Directorate for Combating Organized Crime, Secret Service and the US Department of Homeland Security.

Michael Daniel has pointed out that the Balkan country has established itself as a regional leader in terms of fighting cybercrime, Mediapool informs.
