Thai Police have arrested two Bulgarians for having allegedly attempted to steal electronic data for cloning ATM cards in the island province of Phuket.

Ancho Haritonov Stenkov, 33, and Tervel Dimitrov, 31, were arrested on Sunday in Phuket, The Nation informs.

The arrest came after a bank official alerted police that a card skimming device had been found attached to an ATM opposite the Kasikornbank's Karon Beach branch in Phuket's Muang district.

Dimitrov and Stenkov have confessed to the crime. A third person was on the run, Pol Capt Somdej Sariban has told Bangkok Post. The suspect's nationality was not known.

An additional charge on illegal entering Thailand has been filed against Ancho Haritonov Stenkov as he did not have a travel document.
