The Bulgarian government has provided a site for the construction of Sofia Tech Park, the country's first hi-tech park.

As it had already been announced, the slot earmarked for the project is on the 4th kilometer intersection of the Tsarigradsko Shose Blvd in Sofia and is currently owned by the Ministry of Defense.

The government has provided an area of 90 acres for the construction.

Sofia Tech Park's office building, technological center and museum are to start functioning by end-2015.

Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev has backed the Sofia Tech Park project on various occasions, describing it as a platform for entrepreneurship and innovations in the sphere of information and communications technologies.
