Bulgaria's President Rosen Plevneliev is departing on a state visit to the State of Israel and the Palestinian Authority early next week, the Presidency press service announced.

Plevneliev will be in Israel on October 22-23, 2012, for talks with his Israeli counterpart Shimon Peres for a high-level general overview of the bilateral relations, and with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The Bulgarian President will honor the memory of the Holocaust victims at the Yad Vashem memorial. He will then visit a hi-tech park and research and development facilities in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

Plevenliev will also hold meetings with representatives of the Bulgarian community in Israel.

His state visit to Palestine will start on October 24 with talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Plevneliev will pay respects visiting the grave of late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.

The Presidents of Bulgaria and the Palestinian Authority will sign bilateral agreements in agriculture, data exchange and classified information, and labor and social policy.
