Bulgaria Celebrates Two Spelling Bee Champions!
Bulgaria has crowned not one, but two Spelling Bee champions this year
The emigration flow at the Bulgarian-Turkish border in the last two months has increased by 50%, Bulgarian Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, informs.
Speaking Tuesday for the Bulgarian National Television, BNT, the Minister noted that Bulgaria is not threatened yet by a huge emigrant wave, but the authorities must be ready for it nevertheless.
200 – 250 more people have entered Bulgaria in the last 2 months, compared to the average monthly flow in the last 2 years. There are already 280 foreigners at the accommodation centers for emigrants in Lyubimets and Pastrogor, while their total capacity is 600.
Tsvetanov further explained that when 70% of the capacity is reached (420 people), the country must launch the crisis plan for accommodating a refugee wave such as erecting tent camps, among others.
Border police have already been dispatched to increase security at the Bulgarian-Turkish border. The Minister has held talks with his Turkish counterpart to have joint patrols to speed up the deportation of illegal emigrants back to their native countries.
The capacity of Turkish emigrant camps is near depletion over the huge wave of people fleeing Syria. For this reason, Turkish authorities have made the decision to send back home all who are not Syrian.
There is increased security at the sea border between Turkey and Greece as part of the refugees is trying to reach the Greek islands by water.
