The 1000 MW Unit 6 of Bulgaria's Kozloduy NPP has been stopped in the wee hours Saturday for scheduled yearly maintenance work.

The temporary suspension has been fully coordinated with Bulgaria's power system operator, announced the NPP's management.

During the maintenance work, Unit 6 will undergo planned repair, monitoring of equipment, as well as re-loading with fresh nuclear fule.

The temporary suspension from work is scheduled to last until end of October.

Kozloduy's other unit, the 1000 MW Unit 5, is working at 100% of its capacity, said the NPP's management.
