Bulgaria: Bulgaria to Oppose UK Minimum Price on Alcohol - Report File photo

Bulgaria is set to argue for blocking UK proposals to introduce a minimum price for sales on alcohol, writes the British press Saturday.

Wine producers in Bulgaria are worried that their UK exports might be adversely affected by the move, writes the Daily Telegraph.

They have lobbied in front of their government to address the European Commission to investigate whether minimum prices of alcohol interfere with EU free trade rules.

Other EU member states can also be expected to make a motion like Bulgaria, writes the paper.
