Israeli's National Security Council's Counterterrorism Bureau has renewed its travel advisory against visiting Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, warning of potential terrorist attacks targeting tourists.

As thousands of Israeli citizens prepare to travel abroad for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, the Bureau asked the governments of Greece, Bulgaria, Thailand, and Cyprus to up security measures for the country's tourists.

The Bureau, cited by the Bulgarian new agency BGNES, stresses that Iran and Hezbollah are unwavering in staging terrorist attacks all over the globe, and the entire African continent is under threat, particularly Nigeria, Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia.

September 11 has been noted as a possible date for a terror act.

The request comes in the heels of the July 18 terrorist attack in Bulgaria's Burgas, also known as the Burgas Bus Bombing, which killed 5 Israeli tourists and a Bulgarian bus driver at the Sarafovo Airport.
