Sofia Hosts Christmas Book Fair and 13th International Literary Festival
Sofia is set to welcome the annual Christmas Book Fair and the 13th International Literary Festival from December 9 to 14, 2025
Critically acclaimed Bulgarian documentary "Sofia's Last Ambulance" is the winner of 13th Mediterranean Film Festival in Siroki Brijeg.
The movie was pronounced as the winner of the MFF Projector Jack Daniels award by a three-member jury.
The second prize went to Spanish documentary "A Story for theModlins", while the special jury award went to Lebanese film "Al Hara".
"Sofia's Last Ambulance", a documentary by Ilian Metev about Bulgaria's capital Sofia and staff at its ambulances struggling to keep up with their workload, had already landed Cannes' France 4 Visionary Award and the Best Documentary award at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
Critics have commented that after its successful debut in the International Critics' Week, the movie will be a very popular pick for non-fiction festivals and upscale TV networks worldwide.
