In the last week, prices of basic food stables in Bulgaria went up even further with their wholesale price index reaching 1.35 points.
The data was released by the State Commission for Commodity Exchanges and Market Places.
The index reached its record high in March 2012 – 1.54 points and in mid-July went down to 1.3.
Prices were stable until the beginning of February when the index was 1.4 on average.
Price of feta cheese is up 1% (4.71 per kg); the traditional Bulgarian yellow cheese (kashkaval) sells for the average price of 9.88 per kg, eggs price and the price of ground meat are up as well.
Flour, sugar, and cooking oil prices registered a slight increase.
Regarding prices of produce, those of greenhouse tomatoes are down by 4.8% while the price of greenhouse cucumbers is up by 16.5%. Green peppers are down by 28%, potatoes - up by 6.5% and cabbage is up by 21%.
Prices of peaches, watermelons, and cantaloupes are down, while prices of oranges, lemons and apples went up.
