The Borisova Gradina Park, the biggest park in Sofia, is undergoing a thorough overhaul, according to Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova.

In a Thursday interview for the Bulgarian National Television (BNT), she specified that the repair works would include the installation of 31 CCTV cameras and 400 new lamps.

The new lamps will be mounted on the territory of the park between the Ariana lake and the Yavorov alley.

Another 100 lamps will be installed along the side alleys and in underpasses.

The Sofia Municipality will pay BGN 1.48 for the new equipment, which should be in place by end-November.

The second stage of the project, which will have a price tag of BGN 84 000, will include the installation of the CCTV cameras.
