Bulgarian boxer Detelin Dalakliev lost against Great Britain's Luke Campbell at the quarter-finals of the Olympic boxing tournament in the bantamweight category (56 kg).

The 29-year-old captain of Bulgaria's national team was defeated by the representative of the hosts with the narrow margin of 15:16 which left him just one point away from the coveted Olympic medal.

The 2009 World Champion from Milano started well against Campbell, who eliminated him at the Beijing Olympics 4 years ago, and prevailed with 4:3 in the first round.

The second round ended 5:5 while in the third the fight looked equally balanced on both sides, however the judges gave the host the win with 8:6 from the third round.
