Reuters Website Hacked, False News Published

World | August 4, 2012, Saturday // 10:07

The website of international news agency Reuters has been hacked, with what the agency says is false information appearing.

The hack affected Reuters's blogging service, where appeared, among other things, what Reuters says is a fake interview with Riad al-Asaad, the head of the Free Syrian Army.

In the purported interview, the FSA leader was alleged to have said his forces were pulling back from the northern province of Aleppo after clashes with the Syrian army.

No one has yet assumed responibility for the hacking attack.

The Syrian opposition have already blamed it to the regime of embattled Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad.
